Fix or replace?

Ok, the wife & another woman backed into each other while holiday shopping this past weekend. Turns out they both are at fault so insurance companies are going to handle it. We have a $250 deductible. My question is should I have them replace the rear bumper cover or should I have it fixed somewhere, assuming its less than the deductible? It has 2 small cracks one about 3" the other maybe 1.5" or so. Anyone had to replace a rear bumper cover w/ sensors on a Commander yet?

....and thats all I have to say about that.

I had mine replaced from an accident this past spring. Rear bumper cover, absorber, step pad, and misc. hardware - $593.43.
Labor and paint - $415

Total - $1088.56

I have a hitch that wasn't damaged. It just added $30 on the bill for the bezel. And no sensors on mine. So you'll have to add labor and material on for that. No where near your $250 deductable.

The bumper skin was $276 alone. I'm sure you can find it cheaper but the other person was paying so I didn't look. Even still, it won't be cheap.

BTW, this is on a WK but I would think it would be similar.

Thanks Budasac, this is the info I was hoping to find. Looks like $250 deductible wins!

this is a shot in the dark but you could take this opportunity to go with an aftermarket bumper if its possible. I mean looking at some of the prices guys have paid to replace their stock bumper. Thats if the insurance company would go for that idea.

^^^^, LOL!! Since the cracks aren't too big, you could easily and inexpensively have them repaired. I am sure there must be some good bumper repair folks in your area. One of my renters owns a body shop and does a great job. I've had him fix a couple for me over the years and you can't tell it from a new one. A little research may save you some serious $$$. I know after I got the first one back from him I was amazed how good it came out.
