Extremely loud screeching sound coming from somewhere around my front left wheel

Went offroading today at Dirty Turtle and on thought I got away problem free. However, while driving home I started noticing an extremely loud sound coming from the front of my Jeep. It almost sounded like something was dragging along the road. I stopped in a parking lot and couldn't find what it was but it was coming from somewhere in my front left wheel. Any idea on what this could be?

usually a rock or something caught in your brake caliper.

yeah I just had a screeching coming from my front driver's side wheel after muddin last weekend. lol I even pulled over just like you to check it out and couldn't see anything. Then I turned the music real loud and drove the 2 hours home and when I got there, the squeal was gone

Very common - happens nearly every time I wheel my WK.

Dirt, debris, rock, mud chunk, stick, etc., something will get hung up between the the rotor and the dust shield on one of the fronts. Sometimes throwing it in reverse for a few feet will rid it or a splash through water.

It sounds awful but is relatively harmless - most annoying though.

Happens to me nearly every time I'm on the beach. Very annoying. If it doesn't work itself loose after a few miles I usually pull the tire and remove the debris.
