Escort 9500xi direct wire

I wanted to direct wire my escort 9500xi under the rear view mirror. Anyone have any tips and suggestions on the best way to do this?

Escort makes a direct wire kit, or you can use lan cable, you have to take the radar detector apart to see what wires it actually uses. You can use an open slot in the fuse box under the dash, the upper most right slot on mine was empty and only provided power when the key is on. Just make sure you put a fuse between the detector and fuse box.

Yep. I ordered a direct wire from Amazon and a add a fuse kit. I want to mount the radar under the rear view mirror. Do I just stick the wire between the panels and run it down the door to the fuse box? Would that be the best option? The fuse box for the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee is in the driver's foot area. No?

I stuffed mine inbetween the headliner and roof then ran it down the drivers side a piller. Yes the fuse box is by the drivers side foot area
