DRL install

I want to install a DRL kit in my 2006 Grand Cherokee Overland. Not one Jeep dealer will install.I want to install the complete kit in the engine bay without going through the firewall. There are two fuse/relay boxes in the engine bay that might work.I run the risk of voiding the warrenty if installed by other parties.can this be done.Any help would be great. Thanks Joe

Rumor has it that a WK that's sent to Canada has DRL's enabled. Having a dealer switch it to Canada settings will kick it over to metric, though (or at least that's what I remember).

Hi
Would love to help but don’t have a US WK for me to plug into. I have posted to say the service manual says this can be done in another post. What I can do is play with a UK WH and change country code and see if I can set it up. Not sure what dieseljoe is on about with kits, fuses and going through the firewall.
Regards,
Merlin

Yes, you have to change the country code with a StarScan to one that supports DRLs like Canada and in Dealer Preparations you enable the DRLs then go back and change the country code back. I think dieseljoe is thinking he has to go about it the hard way.

Hi
Found a Canada recall G11 for DRL and reading this recall clearly states you can have DRL on and the country code set to US. Like I posted in another post DRL with US country code turns on the low beam light where Canada DRL turn on the high beam lights but this is on a 2007 year so maybe the older ones you will have to set it to Canada.
Regards,
Merlin

I think 2007 is the first year you have the option of turning on the DRL's for the U.S. market without changing the country code.
