Drivers side outer CV boot damaged

Anyone ever replace the drivers side outer CV boot on their WK? I damaged mine grinding off my Clevis bolt yesterday and now need to replace it. The only problem is I can't get the whole axle out of the differential - it is in there for good. So I was wondering if it would be possible to just cut of the boot and put a new one on while it was still on the Jeep. Anyone ever done this before or have an idea of how to do it? Thanks!

It hasn't gone anywhere and I still have it disassembled so if I can it should be easier to do now rather then later.

Getting the axle out of the differential (for me) required a long piece of wood or a metal rod. Get the best angle you can and "persuade it" with a sledge hammer. I had a bit of fun getting the technique down when I did my differential isolators, but once I figured it out they came out fairly easily. Just seems like you are going to damage it.

Yes, you can replace it while it's still on the vehicle. There's a bunch of videos on YouTube and you can buy a kit to replace just the boot. $15 or so.
