Driver's side mirror glass replacement

Driver's side view mirror glass replacement - anybody done this? Mine is heated and it says "auto dimming" on it. I can't tell if the various online replacements are compatible with all that.

Mine just broke all by itself, just like the windshield did a couple of years ago. Too many hot and cold cycles I guess.

Thanks in advance

I had to replace my passenger side mirror recently (whole thing, not just glass). I picked up the entire mirror (heated) from for about $75. Might try looking there if you haven't already.

Any glass replacement is compatible in that it will physically fit, but you need glass with the specific features you want to keep.

If you like the auto-dimming then you need auto-dimming glass. If you don't care, you can just pop regular defroster glass in there and save a huge chunk of change.

A few of the aftermarket suppliers even offer it without the defroster grid, so that's something to watch out for if you go aftermarket.

I did this about a year ago. I bought the one with defrost but not auto-dimming from rock auto. As I recall it was a really easy installation.
