Do any of the non-CRD owners have a stock "metal" skid plate under the transmission?

the stock CRD seems to have a flimsy/weak plastic dust shield under the transmission pan. I removed it and I can post a picture of it.

do any of you non-CRD owners have a stock metal skid plate under the transmission pan (between the fuel tank and engine)? or do you have to buy an aftermarket metal skid plate?

I have stock metal skid plates under the engine and under the fuel tank.

It all depends if your jeep came with the offroad package from the factory or not. You got 3 skid plates with that add on package (front, transfer case, and gas tank). You can buy the steel transfer case skid plate that the non-CRD jeeps use from the dealer or online. It attaches to the gas tank skid and the metal cross member that's directly under the front seats. I can't say if it would work for you guys or not though.

Oops. Sorry, didn't see you wrote transmission pan the first time. Jeep doesn't make a factory one for that. 4xguard makes a belly skid that would go between the front skid suspension skid and the transfer case skid. Their newest design would completely cover it. I know it works on a CRD because the owner Marlin said that's what they used to mock it off of.

The 4X Guard will fit the CRD no problem. I have the older version, it covers the DPF and tranny. The left side is open, but that should be no problem, the new cover slants up on both sides. The plate hangs about 3/4 or so inches lower than the engine plate as it was designed to fit the Cats for the gas engines.

If you geta chance, could you take a photo of the skid protecting the transmission pan? It would be near the catalytic converter, but I'm guessing the catalytic converter is not covered.

He pics are great thanks. Is there a skid between the engine skid plate and the transfer case skid plate? Or is it just an open gap?

No skid between those, open space but Definitely didn't have anything sitting low that I could imagine would get damaged. At work so I can't check I can snap a pic later of the space between if you'd like.

that's cool, I don't need a pic if its just an open space. thats the same place that has the flimsy plastic shield on my WK. I thought there may be a mopar bolt on metal shield on the hemi with the off road package. My guess is that 4x is the only option - unless I want to make my own skid plate for that area.

Probably would be too hard. Just need to figure the dimensions, and figure out where you can bolt it too.
