Way to much money for a fuel rail pressure box. Might give you .5 mpg better, but that's it. Added pressure will be harder on the injectors and pump. Not the best way to do things, I've been through this on my Dodge diesels.

Thanks for doing that research! Certainly not something to buy if one is soley interested in economy. It would be cool to check one out though. Where was the technical information? I couldnt find it in the post. Once again the Europeans seem to be ahead of us on the small diesel stuff. There will likely be more products in the future.

LOL not really. £1 GBP is about $2.05 USD at the moment. So that is about $2,700 USD for the kit if one was to order it from the UK.

Nothing like this in the US, yet. There is likely demand, but the CRD is no SRT, so I don't know what the response is going to be like from the tuner world. I'm sure something is in the works.

What's the turner world? To be honest don’t feel a lot in it between the CRD with this kit and the 5.7 (not the 6.1) and I know I would have the CRD going by UK fuel prices. I am sure someone will look up figures now but it’s just my opinion.

The "tuner world" is the world of car tuners, specialists who tune up and pimp out cars, like Brabus, Hennessy, Alpina, Neuspeed, the M boys over at BMW, and the like.

Iím willing to bet there will be some thing here to come out, probably from Edge. Edge were the only ones to make a box for the Liberty CRD. They may make some thing along those lines. Iím sure there will be a demand for this, but not $2,000+. For some thing that costs that much, it better say BANKS on it. Iím not saying STARTECH isnít good, I know they are very good. Look at what they did to the 4.7L V8 in the WGs. WOW

I doesn't affect dpf and you'll get very good mileage ! brabus / Startech sd6 is the only chiptune which doesn't affect warranty. Torque and mileage have easily improved by 15-20%.
Plug and play... Litteraly!

Does it disable EGR and swirl motor? Allow for DPF removal down the road? Ability to install 3 diff tunes? Have a built in code reader? No? Then why would we want to pay MORE for an inferior product?

Why do you say that its an inferior product? Have you tried it ? Remember that this brabus chipbox doesn't affect warranty, not so ure about ecu reprograming... anyways I dont want to start a discussion on this. So its a reader also ?? Realy ? So you can read tcm, abs, wi node, sas code with this ? My chip was a good deal 200$ and served me very well so far 24-26mpg sometimes 27mpg. Never had a problem with swirl, egr and dpf but I kept crank case vapor routed as it should be. Hint : 229.51 and nothing else. Other stuff is like cholesterol lol unless your exhaust syst is moded like you said. Usually the mods aleviate the cost in oil changes and fuel consumption, yes.

Who here still has their warantee? Hands up please...

Who here has GDE and has loaded their stock tune back when having to take their truck to the dealer? Not much of a problem is it?

Perhaps the GDE reader cannot read every single code but can read and clear CEL codes. From what i can see the Brabus box cannot do even that.

Just because YOU havent had an issue with any of the well known weak points of the OM642, and something that the GDE tune fixes doesnt make it not needed.

Keep your EGR and keep running oil vapours through your intake track and we'll see what your intake manifold will look like in a few years. Hint, not pretty.

BTW, can you call Brabus and specify a slightly different tune like you can with GDE? Or have the ability to run an ECO tune, a DPF delete ECO tune or a HOT tune all within 5 minutes of each other? No? Again, inferior product, and at the original price of $2,000, idiotic to even consider.
