Dash Lights Flashed and now will not stary
My wife has a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 74,000 miles. Friday she was driving and the dash lights flashed on and off two times for her. They have not done this since. Today she drove to work and everything was fine and was leaving and now the Jeep will not turn over. The dash lights come on but that is it. I tried to jump it from my Cherokee but it didn't jump. Does anyone have any ideas? Also there was a tick i heard under the hood and also in the car. Was not sure where it was coming from. Going to take the battery to get it checked tonight.

It could be a number of things. Need more info. The two may not even be related. Could be a bad ground on the starter. Was that the first time the dash lights blinked? Faulty ignition switches are relatively common and typically cause the dash to go a little haywire. Dash and headlights as well as radio backlights blinking could also be your MFS (multi-function switch) going bad.

That was the first time that had happened. I was waiting to see if it happened again before i replaced the ignition switch and it never did. Then today it just wouldn't start and then i tried to jump it and wouldn't turn over.

I would test the battery and check the ground on the starter then go from there.

I had a tread about this about a week or 2 ago but mine was doing it every day. I took out the instrument cluster and made sure the three plugs in the back were plugged in good. Then I replaced the ignition switch. It hasn't happened since

When I turn the key it comes up check gauges. Also I hear a clicking sound in the fuse box closest to the battery, not sure what this means. Still will not turn over

Could it be as easy as the battery terminal needs to be cleaned even if it does not look corrosion has set in?

The time now is 03:26 PM.
