Hey guys. Just thought I'd share where I ended up putting my hard-wired aux input. I took a few pics during the process, so I guess this is kind of a write up...but it is for advanced readers because I'm not detailing the small things like how to remove the radio, etc
I think it turned out pretty well.
This is the jack I chose. A DYI unit from the Shack. 3 conductor (for stereo).
Took the "bar" that is full of buttons out of the main panel, removed the back, drilled a hole and mounted the jack.
Got a RCA patch cable, cut off one end and soldered it to the jack. Drilled a hole on the back of the "bar" and ran the cable out.
Installed a PIE chry04 aux input adapter that I bought at my local Car Toys. This part was super easy. It just plugs up to the factory radio harness.
