CRD is sold, but will be remembered.

She was a fast machine
She kept her motor clean
She was the best damn woman I had ever seen
$29.5K, not bad for depreciation, even Honda could not pull that one off

Don't be a stranger. Let us know how the Touareg goes. Very curious to hear about your ownership experience. Congrats on the sale, just as I expected, you sold it at the right time. That's good money. Wholesale prices on these are peaking because inventory of New CRDs is about done and diesel remains competitive in price w/ 87 octane gas. I bought my New Limited 2wd w/o Nav for $23k in March. I have a few questions about your thoughts on the Startech/Brabus tuning box. I found the only retailer in the US and am debating purchasing one vs. the Inmotion tune I've read about here. I'll PM you a few questions once I gather my thoughts.

WOW................... Truely surpised you got that much.

I mean considering the other 08 GC CRD that had a bit more options maxxed at 27k, and the 08 GC Overland CRD also ended at 27k...

I think his presentation and the fact that he had a lot of feedback vs <20 for the other 08 CRD. Very good job on the presentation by the way.

Touareg is doing fine, she purrs like a kitten and pulls like wild cougar. Yesterday I got to tow my first 3000lb with it and it felt like sailing on calm waters. The only thing these V10 seem to share is slight rumble in the drivetrain, but only when its sits at the light. As soon as you take off, noise goes away. No one is sure where is comes from, but it does not seem to progress into anything.
Overall, my first tank got me 17mpg, so it remains to be see what overall fuel economy if gonna be like. Air suspension is fantastic, it makes entire ride a totally different experience.
Also, this engine is a lot simpler than our om642, no butterfly valves, easy access to intakes for routine cleaning, no piezo injectors. Also it spins a lot easier (at least feels that way), providing a lot better run out on highway, I can coast for a mile, before hitting gas again.

I'm betting that the CRD WK will hold its value now. They are no longer sold in North America.

So I drove my CRD for the last time today, less the Brabus. I have to say that without it Jeep pulls like there is 5000lb trailer on the back. I totally did not realize the difference it was making all that time.
In any case, car hauler should be here any time, she flies away some better place in Indiana

Excellent price ! As you say she must have been clean........

I bet that you'll be back in a Jeep within 2 years.....the 2011 GC looks great apart from the rear end....
