I'm going to ditch the original and get one with a 2.5" inlet and a 2.5" outlet. I plan on relocating the power steering cooler (or whatever it is) to below the bumper. I think a 9- 10" tall cooler will fit with no real issue except for the hood latch support which can be modified. Since only 6" of the current intercooler is behind the grill and the rest behind the bumper and the small outlet the aftermarket intercooler should be an improvement.

Improved flow can only be a good thing! Will be interested to see how you get on.
Finding it difficult to measure up where things will go without having the winch, there's definitely an amount of guesswork involved.

I have a SA winch mount coming next week. I'll probably get around to the mount and figuring out the new intercooler specs over the next couple of months. A couple of months ago I pulled the original intercooler out and measured the hoses. I thought I might be able to turn it around and make it fit, but the different sizing on the inlet and outlet prevent that.

Did your intercooler ever get the puncture from the bumper cover screw? Seems like it was a common issue. Mine had a hole in the intercooler when I bought it. I've since used something else instead of that stupid screw, and I JB Welded the intercooler hole.

Started working on mine today. Relocated the cooler, installed the SA hidden winch mount, installed the intercooler, and the hood supports. I have some odds and ends to take care of. I'll test it out and if it does okay I'll put on my winch.

Who made that intercooler? It looks smaller than the stock one.

It is, but most of the stock intercooler is behind the bumper and the outlet is only 2". This one has a 2.5" outlet and almost 100% more area to air flow.

Yes, I cut off the bottom to support the bumper and grill and cut and reused the stock support arms to support the hood. The way I did it is pictured and is sketchy. I need to think of a better way to support the hood support.
