CRD DPF Delete... Any updates? - New member saying hi.
I've been browsing this forum off and on for the past year watching for a DPF delete to surface for the 3.0 CRD. I haven't seen anything but does anyone have any updates to this? I am very close to purchasing a limited or overland CRD and would be thrilled if a DPF delete came out for it. Seems like one could get 27-28 mpg highway with a high flow DPF or no DPF combined with a nice inmotion tune.
It's got me pretty excited. I've been wanting to get a diesel for a long time but just couldn't get myself to get a little fwd diesel like the jetta sportwagen and I dont need a huge truck either. I need a 4x4 suv to replace my 98 4runner. Seems like the Grand Cherokee is the perfect answer. I've noticed the aftermarket is quite small for this engine here in the states. Hopefully more will come out in the near future. Jeff

I've gotten 28.8 mpg with a DPF doing 60 mph through a winding road....
Mines got the "tune" As for a DPF delete....Nope, nada....... Personally after living in a an area where there isn;t any diesel emmission standards..... I have decided to retain my dpf, i no longer enjoy the thought of blowing smoke every where. On another note, don;t wait just get the crd and the tune.... I normally get 23-24 mpg mixed driving and 25-26 on the hwy depending on wind and speed. Cruising at 80-85 still gave me 23 ish mpg... Oh and it ran a 14.88 in the 1/4..... Hell that's faster than my old 2000 GTI VR6 on a 55shot of NAWZZZZZZZZZ

Good call on getting the tune right away. I've read through a bunch of your posts and am very impressed with your dyno results and 1/4 mile time.
Your right about the DPF delete. I will most likely be purchasing this under my business and promoting a green car website with it so a DPF delete would probably be a bad idea The high flow dpf however seems like another good option. I plan on running some kind of Biodiesel blend, probably B20. Will this interfere at all with the inmotion tune? |

Sorry to hijack. How early is too early to get the InMotion Tune? I'm at 3k miles now and figured I'd wait until at least 5k before it get it. I believe the owner's manual says that break in can take up to 10k miles depending on driving style.

Get the tune. it won't affect the " break in". Besides 10k miles for break in is a bit ridiculous.
I've had the tune since 14k or so.. and now i'm at 24k.... it has been running GREAT. Stay away from Bio diesel... the max recommended is B5.... so basically whats point of running it. Keep in mind the Diesels that were affected by the "fuel contamination issue", like my truck, were all due to running a higher blend of Biofuel... Atleast this is the best information i was able to dig up. Bio fuels are GREAT solvents, the issue is with seals and plastics... I would be careful on the Bio stuff.

OH break em in Hard and they'll run hard.....
![]() I let my mom baby the truck, then i come home and take it to the drags, and generally drive it harder than she does..... Not abusive though... Never power break the truck, i don;t try to spin the tires, i just jack rabbit the lights a little... In fact i plan on going to Las Vegas Motor speedway again on DEC 4th... Much cooler weather, so i wanna see if i can get a better time.. ![]()
