crd diesel glow plug layout diagram (HELP) (SOLVED)(FIXED)

Hi Members,

Please help.

I have read as much as I can and are still confused .

I need to find number 2 glow plug.

2008 WK 3.0 CRD Grand Cherokee

I can not find a diagram showing cylinder or glow plug layout.

Also is there special about removing the connection on the top of the Glow Plug?

Thank you in advance.

EDIT: I found this web page .. looks very helpful ..others may find it so... It would be nice if someone can confirm the information on this page.

The diagram is correct. Nothing special about removing the connectors. I use a set of long needle nose pliers to grip the sides and pull straight up. Replacing the plugs in fairly simple. Just make sure you have the proper size deep well socket...my cheap kit from Harbor Freight caused delays. I spent more time finding the right socket than I did replacing 3 plugs.

Glow plugs fixed. Thank you.

Thank you Cougar, Exactly right on everything.. used a 8mm deep well socket ..

I purchased 6 glow plugs (Bosch and got a deal for 6 at $25 each) As after reading ..and reading and reading other posts/threads .. I figured if one was bad it may not be long before the others go bad ..

My code showed number 2 being the only one throwing the code. I tested the resistance before removing #2 and yes it showed bad.

I had a fight with myself for about 30 seconds about if I really wanted to change the others... I am glad I did..

It turned out... numbers 2, 3, and 4 tested bad.. 1, 5, and 6 tested good.. I changed those that tested good anyway as .. numbers 1 and 6 needed the removing of other parts to get to them.

Thank you for your reply and to this forum for the heaps of information the members part with.

I hope my experience helps someone else also.
