Yes they were sold here in America in 2007 and 2008 and were sold in other markets 2005-2010.

It's the same 3.0L engine that Mercedes uses. The most common problem seems to be the swirl motor issue but there are now cheaper fixes for it. I've never had the problem.

A diesel option will return next year. The first reports said it would be the 2013 models, but new reports say the 2014 models will come out in the first couple months of 2013. I've had many people ask me what I'm doing over at the diesel pumps at the fuel stations.

My wife is always having people tell her that she is putting the wrong fuel in her WK. She hates it but I think its hilarious.

Well, that is hard to imagine. I have a 1991 4.0 inline six. It has 200,000 plus miles on it and I have had NO engine issues except for Starter, Alternator, Water Pump. It doesn't even burn oil.

That said, I love my 07 CRD and so far, the only engine issues have been: Swirl Motor, Alternator, Oil pressure sensor. So we'll see.

There are Sprinter vans all over the USA with this engine that over 200,000 miles. And they are driven like they are stolen. There thousands of these engines in taxi cabs in Germany....
