Have you looked to see if the latch is in the open position?

Agree with 10Xk, sometimes the little latch will stay open, happens on my zj when i take the doors off and put the back on, just needs a push of the finger.. but when it happens to me, the door "bounces" back, what happens when you try to close it?

It just bounce back. It seems as if the electric lock does not engage. I will probably have to replace the lok :-(

Screw driver and two people. One pulls the open handle while the other manually opens latch with screw driver while handle is pulled.
