Just a quick question on the noise. Do you have the roof rails in the proper positions of 1 and 4? If you don't that will make a whistle. If you have them in the right position does it sound more like a high pitched vibration? I have been in the shop to locate my noise five times and no results. There also is another owner with this problem as well. This problem seems to exist within the V-6 models.

I have the whistling noise on mine. I havent noticed it as much anymore though, I've got about 500 miles on it already. I actually dont have the cross bars, mine didnt come with them.

I thought the cross bars were standard on the Commander, basic and limited. I guess not. That sucks.

From what I gathered Jeep Engineers are aware there is an issue and supposedly have afix for it. However the technician has to hear it to confirm where it is coming from. Still have my whistle. So good luck. I believe the V8 was the way to go.
