Commander Limited vs GrandCherokee Limited

Well I have a 2004 Liberty and I love it but I got a new title this year "IS Project Mgr" more money and I have to cart vendors around to lunch and stuff now and piling 5 into a liberty needs a can opener and a few good swift kicks.

Was considering getting a 06 Cherokee Limited or a 06 Commander I know a few people with Cherokee's but wanted some input on the commander from people that own one.

I only drive 6 miles to work in fact I just hit 12k on my liberty and I have owned it for 2 years now.

(I Know I am going to take it in the shorts trading my liberty in but you gotta do what you gotta do)

Any Pros and Cons? any suggestions?

depends on you.... We but a commander over the grand because my better half and I both thought that the commander had a better ride than the Grand. We also thought that the Grands seat felt like rocks. One last thing that we noticed was that the grand did have a sportier ride and feel while the Commander felt like luxuary. Again that is how we felt when driving the two.

Congrats on your promotion!

I work as a real estate developer.

As a result, I travel on a wide variety of terrain during work days, and also carry a variety of passengers, ranging from lenders, investors, attorneys, general contractors, property managers, project managers, brokers, etc.

The Commander Limited works well. It blends in at the jobsites, and it is luxurious enough for the white collar crowd.

And on occasional weekends it sees mild to moderate offroading. And it hauls the family nicely with plenty of room for my cargo needs.

I like it.

I have a colleague that bought a Grand Cherokee and finds it blends equally well for his work responsibilities and play duties.

I think the second row headroom may be better in the Commander. People have commented on how much they like the headroom, the reclining second row, and the second row skylights.

I traded in my 2005 GC limited for my 06 Cmdr Limited. Lost lots of money, But I'd do it again in a heartbeat. more space in the 2nd row, and more standard safety features. but then again, it's not rally fair to compare my former CG to my CMDR beacuse my old WK was a 4.7 LTD 2wd, and my new XK LTD has the HEMI and QDII, and is fully loaded.
Equally equipped, it be a tough choice.
they drive similar on the street, XK feels a little more substantial. it just depends on what look you want and if you really need the 3rd row. I'm 6'0" and the commander does feel a lot roomier than the WK. And I do feel more manly in the XK

good comment on the 2nd row reclining seats SYCO. they dont move back at all in the GC. and the commander doesn't have a cargo cover. And I agree with silverback about the seats.

Yeah, it's a bummer about the cargo cover. My Tahoe had one with third row seats. Nice to at least have the option.

When it rains, the wipers start all by themselves, AND, the brights go off magically when on-coming cars approach! Go figure!

Perfect car so far---very tight and quiet.

In a word--YES. Rain sensitive wipers and auto diming headlights are standard; at least on the Limited. Both work great!

Okay I have narrowed my Options down to just two a 2006 Hemi Commander Limited and a 2006 Hemi Grand Cherokee SRT8, both are pretty nice rides the commander looks more boxy and macho but the SRT8 looks like its Kicks A$$ and takes names.
