CEL on 2008 WK CRD, showing no codes

Yesterday the CEL illuminated on our 08 WK CRD 4x4. I get no DTCs when I put it in diagnostic mode. Any ideas?

I checked the oil and it looked a little low so I brought it back to spec. We have a faulty nav system that's waiting to be replaced but I doubt that has anything to do with it. The fuel cap is on properly. It's right at the oil change interval but I've not seen a CEL illuminate b/c of that before. Bad fuel maybe?

Does anyone have some ideas? I'm going to use my buddy's handheld scanner to see if that will pull any codes but so far I've got zilch.

Thanks,

Tim

I had the same problem, eventually the problem occurred again and kicked a code. In your case, I would not worry until it kicked a code out. Keep your scanner with you in case it happens while driving.

I used a scanner and I'm showing P0672 and P0673. This translates to glow plugs 3 and 4. I'll do some digging and see if anyone else had these codes.

seems glow plug failures are getting common lately. I'm planning to research a good price myself and then ordering 6 and when 1 fails, I will just do them all.

Had the same problem on my 2007, with 36k miles. No code, just the CEL. Went to the dealer and he couldn't find anything wrong, turned off the light. Two days later it was back on, went back to the dealer, #2 glow plug fixed. No problems and no lights since.
