Camps build thread!

I have been looking on this forum for a while now and decided which route I wanted to go with my wk, so now I am going to start my build thread. It's going to start slow but I have a lot of plans for it.

Bit of quick history on my vehicles. First car I ever owned was a 96 explorer. This is the only pic I can find of it.

Then I sold that and bought a 2005 Chrysler 300. I built that up pretty awesome, here's how it looked right before I decided to sell that.

Then I bought an 07 F150. Here's how it looked after I built it up too.

And now I'm on the jeep. So what I bought is an 05 white limited hemi V8. It is loaded with everything except for DVD. Here's a pic of it the first day I had it. Took it up to see what it could do right away.

These first list of mods are pretty small and insignificant, but I did what I could to make it my own with a small amount of cash. First thing I did was take off the air dam, since I scraped it up pretty good the first day I had it up in the hills.

The next thing I did was plasti dip my wheels. I did a write up of it on another thread, but I'll at least post the pics here of it.

And the finished product:

Next thing I did was plasti dip my grille. Since I had black wheels I wanted to get rid of as much chrome as possible without it being permanent. The plasti dip was perfect.

That's how it looks right now. A couple weeks ago I ordered the OME HD lift from Kolak, props to him by the way for hooking it up at a great price. Anyway, I got in one set of coil springs last week, and the other set today. Just waiting for the shocks to get here now.

Also yesterday I met up with a guy from the forum who was selling a set of jk moab wheels with the bf goodrich m/t tires locally. Which is pretty sweet since I was desperately trying to find a set of these before my lift came in. I really didn't want the tiny stock tires once I had the lift on. Got a pretty sweet deal, all 5 with about 70% tread left for $400. Can't complain about that.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

And today I just ordered the rough country 1.5" wheel spacers for the front and back. So now I play the waiting game for the last pieces of the OME lift.

I plan on getting the pinch weld and rear fender trim mods done this weekend so that they will be out of the way before I dive into getting the lift installed. I'll post some pics of that as soon as it's done. So for now that's all I got for you guys. I am super excited to build this jeep up.

I've been very very pleased with the number of WK builds popping up. Good luck with the rest of your build.

Great deal on the Moabs and M/T's! Are you gonna sell off your Ronin II's?
Build thread is starting to come together and the WK's gonna look good.

Thanks everyone. I am pretty stoked to track my progress with a build thread this time. I have built up two vehicles prior to the Jeep, but never did a build thread for them. The first was a Chrysler 300 and the second was a Ford F150 Supercrew. I am by far most excited about the Jeep though. I hate having to wait for those last few parts to come in. Feels like forever haha.

Yeah I thought so too. I know Omelet said he got a set of 5 with about 60% tread left and one brand new spare for $300, but that is unheard of.

And yeah I will definitely sell my Ronin II's as soon as I get everything new installed. They are in awesome shape and the cooper discoverer atr's that I have on them are close to new. And the spare is the original goodyear tire but has never even touched the ground. I will post them on here soon enough, but will probably end up selling them on craigslist.

I doubt you'd have trouble selling them on Craigslist - somebody will want them if the price is right.
BTW - I know what you mean when you say it feels like forever waiting for the lift components to arrive.
I couldn't wait either.

Yeah I just want to get $400 for them so I come out even. Not really trying to make any money off of them, plus I need that $400 back as soon as I can get it, so hopefully someone wants them.

And yeah the wait is killing me. I placed the order and transferred the money to Kolak on the 28th, which was 15 days ago, so I am crossing my fingers that the rest of the parts will be here by this weekend. I would really like to get it done before next week. I found a great trail close by my house, up towards our local ski resort that I can't wait to get after, but would definitely like the extra ground clearance before I go. I feel like a kid on Christmas eve again, the time just can't go by fast enough haha.

I know I have been seeing a lot get started lately. I felt a little shy about doing mine after seeing some of the ones already on here, like jager00's or budasacs. But you gotta start somewhere. I have some big plans for this jeep but it's going to take a while so I figured why not start one and track my progress.

Stopped by home depot on the way home today and picked up a can of primer and truck bed liner to do the pinch weld and rear fender trim mods with. Also picked up another can of plasti dip to try out the look of the new wheels/tires in black. And last I stopped by auto zone to pick up a can of pb blaster to start spraying down all the bolts before I get the rest of the lift parts in. I want it to be nice and soaked in by the time I'm ready to do the lift.

Got the 1.5" spacers in today! Went to try and put them on and realized that the factory tire iron wont fit inside the spacers to bolt them to the jeep. Bummer Guess they will have to wait til tomorrow when I can get one that fits.
