I'd like to get together and do Azusa.

I've done it before quite a few times in my wife's Cayenne S (see gallery). The Cayenne does not have the air suspension, so clearance should be similar to the stock Commander.

I don't think it would be a problem, if you have skid plates and are not afraid to touch rocks a little bit. There are plenty of stock 4WD vehicles out at Azusa. Also plenty of modified vehicles too. Fun place. Gorman is a great place too, and easier, since there is a wide variety of trails.

Lifted, I have done Gold Mountain Trail with the Commander. And I've done Gorman and Hollister in the Commander stock. Hollister I hit some stuff lightly - no damage. The stock clearance is nothing to write home about.

I probably need to get something to cover my new K&N intake, so I don't take in too much water...

Great. Just need to find a weekend. Maybe we can post it, and have some other Commanders join us. I know Chipster and Intreper would be interested.

October is pretty open for me, except for the weekend of Oct 22nd - going offroading with the Porsche club.

Here's a pic of my Jeep at Gold Mtn Trail:

I set up the first Hooters meet in Costa Mesa a while back, and we only had 3 Commanders total and 5 people. But, we had fun, and each got to meet one another and check out the rides. Seems like there are a lot more Commanders out now.

So, if we can get together 3-6 Commanders to check out Azusa in October together that will be great.

Chipster and Intreper - are you out there???

I'll pencil in October 15th, Sunday morning for Azusa.

Post if you are interested.

I'll PM Chipster and Intreper also.

I just did some offroading in Vegas last Sat.

I haven't heard anything from other Commanders, but I have a friend with a Mitsubishi Montero Limited, so we are on for October 15th if you are still interested.

Meet at the Asuza San Gabriel OHV parking lot right inside the gate at 10 am?

Bring a 2 way FRS radio if you have one, code 14-4.

Let us know if you plan to come.

Yes, we will have straps. This should be fun. I'll try to post on another Commander site if I remember and see if we can get a couple more Commanders.

Hey SYCOHEMI... long time no see!

Probably a no-go on Oct. 15th ... Too much goin on this month.
She also is a bit freaked out about getting scratches on her Jeep.
If she does change her mind ... I'll have to remove the Nerf Bars.. which takes less than 10 minutes.

Hello Chipster,

I've been through Hollister (stock) and Big Bear with no scratches.

If you can make it - that would be cool.

The only scratches, if any, would be underneath - where she won't see 'em. But if you go slowly, you should be fine.

Let us know if it changes. Otherwise, we totally understand.
