Just the diesel motor that you can get as an option.

Hey folks...

I'm about to look at a 2010 WK Limited with 75K Miles on it. The dealer is asking $21,450. Based on the build sheet, it looks like it has just about every possible option except for the HID headlights. (One of the options I wanted most...)

If I swap the halogen headlights for the OEM HID headlights, will that also give me the auto-leveling feature? (Not sure if that depends on something outside the lamp itself...)

Also, does this sound like a decent deal? The mileage is a bit higher than I'd prefer, but since the only comparable WK's for sale in this area have 85K and 91K miles, I don't know that I should worry about 75K. Thanks!

Well, I'm looking over that 2010 WK Limited now and it seems to have the dreaded "Service 4WD System" message when I try to shift into 4LO. (QuadraDrive II) I put a scan tool on it and it isn't pulling any codes though. Most of the threads I've seen about that message are due to an issue with an N23 recall, but obviously if it's a problem with the transfer case that could be more severe. Anyone have any thoughts on the severity of that message?

You are going to get mixed opinions here. It is pretty common and I wouldn't worry about the message per se.

I was in the same boat as you when I just bought mine and the flash had already been performed.

So I had 2 options.

1. try and find an older pcm that hasn't had the flash and deal with the possible popping into neutral issue.

2. take it to the dealer and make sure the newest procedure for the flash is done and hope it works.

Since I was already dropping it off to have diagnostics ran on my O2 sensors, I went with option 2 and figured it couldn't hurt. My local dealer that i work with stated that they haven't had a single person come back with the 4wd low problem once they did the newest procedure released back in march which seems to be the key here. Mine has been working fine ever since I had the flash redone with the newest procedure and I am seeing more and more of that now.

Now I'm not saying that it is the perfect solution for everyone but I wouldn't let that deter me from buying the jeep because you are going to have that issue to deal with no matter which wk you buy more than likely.

Just my 2 cents.

Sounds like very sound advice. I took it, and will be picking the WK up tomorrow as soon as they give it a full detail.

Thanks!

You're welcome. Hope it works out.

If it makes you feel any better the day I got mine home I had the 4low problem, a O2 sensor, and cat going out. Talk about an expensive ride home lol. But I will get it all figured out eventually here.

I just checked Kelly Blue Book for a dealer purchase based price on that vehicle, and it's around $9k... so be careful & check it out thoroughly!

Direct Link to KBB for that vehicle
