I think this looks like a pretty good deal. Dealer seems reputable from the brief search I did. MI doesn't have any more salt than any other northern state, and probably even less than you have there in NC since you're coastal.

Another to buy or not to buy...

OK Gang, I've read this whole thread and I'm considering an 05 WK.

It's a Limited with the 4.7 V8. Moonroof, heated leather seats, TV for the kids, 80k miles. $9k.

Clean carfax, no accidents, 2 owners. Looks clean as a whistle. However:
Aftermarket stereo was added & has an open N23 recall.

Hey guys I recently wrecked my BMW and have been researching a 2010 5.7 to buy.

I found one at a dealership and but it had an issue where it said the hard drive had 0 gigs free and 0 gigs total, it also said navigation database was not detected and needed to be installed. Would that also make the bluetooth non-functional? I informed them of the issue after the test drive and they later told me that the drive had crashed and they were looking to get it fixed.

Its been removed from their site in the meantime. I called today to ask if it had been sold and the woman said she didn't believe so because it has been gone since Thursday when I told them about the issue.

My question is how much do you think it would cost to fix that issue? Also do you think this is a good report?

I'm going to look at a 2008 xk Sport with 4.7, rough country spacer leveling lift, billsteins, after market wheels 265/70/17 178,000 miles.
How do I tell if it has QD2?
I want the limited slip differential. I will be off reading some and like the added traction.
They are asking $6900 or best offer. Seems like a good price.

Rear diff cover should have 12 bolts vs. 10 for the non-ELSD if I remember correctly. Also the 4wd shift lever might also be marked as QuadraDrive2 on the bezel.

Picked it up yesterday. He knocked it Dow to $6000.00 because it wouldn't go into 4lo. I hope it's and easy fix.
It 3" exhaust and really nice wheels. Now to read up on a couple of little issues it has.

Check the recall history to see if the N23 recall has been done but the P73 notice has not.

N23 caused untold numbers of owners to loose 4low function and P73 was a notice to have it re-flashed using a corrected procedure.

If you search N23 here you'll find more info that you ever wanted but warning that if the P73 has been done or didn't work next step is replacing the transfer case actuator. Should be covered under the N23 recall but they have made owners jump through so many hoops rarely is. You can get an aftermarket unit for about $250 and is a 4 bolt and a plug kind of install. If you have skid plates do need to remove one to get to it however. Or you can find a pre-N23 Final Drive Control Module from a salvage vehicle that has not has the recall done. Those might be hard to find.

In the meantime try the "Fuse Pull Trick" But this is also a temporary fix and must be repeated when the error returns weeks or months later. Good write up on the “Fuse Pull Trick” by Troy123 here http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/n...l#post20486321 If that works you've got the N23 bug.

Looks good, just be aware you are going to walk into the next schedule for most of the maintenance. You should verify it all anyway. I would also look into cleaning up and conditioning all the leather before having to replace it with the way that driver seat looks. Seat swap/leather in them is expensive. What's the under carriage look like?

I am going to take a look at it tomorrow.

Are you referring to the 100k mile maintenance? Is there a thread/post that outlines what maintenance is due near this mileage? I didn't see one in a search.

Ya, its time for fluid on front and rear diff, plugs, etc.. wkjeeps.com will give you all the intervals to follow, but as long as everything is straight and not a rust bucket can't go wrong. I had an 06WK and just got a 08WK Hemi with 92k on it and the worst thing I have had to do so far was change out the axle lock solenoid.

Good to know. That kinds of stuff doesn't scare. I'm looking to move from the 01 XJ I have now which has 240k and the little issues are adding up like rust and broken electrical connectors and crap.

So, of course, as a research the WK, the majority of the posts are about what is wrong with people's Jeeps and I get concerned about reliability. Not a whole lot to go wrong with an XJ as long as it doesn't rust in half.

NP, biggest thing with the WK has really just been the N23/Service 4WD that some have and some don't. The others are the blend door actuators and the PITA to rip the entire dash down.
