Bilstein will not honor Warranty: Budget Boost Voids it

So my two rear shocks are leaking...the drivers side more so. I called bilstein and sent them pictures. They saw my rear spacer and asked how much my lift was. I told them 2 inches. Bilstein said that because of my lift the warranty is void. I could have sworn others here have gotten replacements with a 2 inch lift.

I was expecting great service from Bilstein. They were pretty cut and dry about it. I told them that I know of other WK owners with the lift that have gotten replacements under the warranty. I figured out what happens is that instead of contacting Bilstein directly they return the shocks to the place where they bought them. The store then sends them back and Bilsteing replaces them not knowing they came from a lifted WK. Thus the warranty is honored. So much for honesty right!

Can you return the shocks to the place that you got it from?

I think you just got someone at Bilstein who was not in the mood to be accomodating.

Try to warranty them through the company you purchased them from initially. Most all of the vendors handle the warranty on behalf of Bilstein. Take a photo of one of the leaking shocks with it removed from the vehicle.

Hey Kolak,

Company I purchased from doesn't want to email me back for some reason.

Off Road Warehouse in San Deigo...not sure why they don't respond.

If I had a way to get replacements I would but no one seems to want to help me out. If I can't get replacements I'll get the OME Rears for the WK. I was just hoping to save what little funds I have with the warranty.

When i had my RRO lift and Bilsteins, during a bump i could hear my rear shocks maxing out and i knew i would damage them very soon if i didn't do something about it.
I went to my local welder and had him weld 2.25'' shock extensions on my axle which helped out alot, something to consider when running a stock shock with your budget boosts.

Thanks guys,

Just left a voice mail for the gentleman I originally purchased the shocks from at ORW.

Always read the fine print.

I installed stock HD shocks on the WJ recently, and the limitations were clearly printed in the documentation. I am not lifted. Thus, I should have no issue if I have problems.

Where did you purchase them from? The only documentation I received with mine was my invoice from ORW...nothing else.
