I guess I'll set the front struts at 2" for a level ride?

Yes, I think you will achieve a more level stance then if you installed a spacer lift like RC, RRO, or Daystar. I had to use 4 rear coil isolators on each side to make my WK look level with the RC lift.

I ordered a pair of 5100 adjustable front struts. Anyone know how much I should expect to have them installed? Someone else recommended Pep Boys as this should be hard to mess up.

According to Alldata, the labor is 2 hours for both front struts. Price will depend on how much the shop charges for labor/hour

Bilsteins

Hey everybody, new member, first post. Has anyone got any new info on these ride height adjustable 5100's. I was wondering how they are working out and the actual lift you ended up with? None of the spring shops and 4X4 shops in my area ( Windsor Ontario , Detroit Mi.) have even heard about these, and want to sell me a BB, probably because that is what they are used to. Will fill out sig when I have more time, but I have a 05 GC Limited, Hemi. If these are working out I will probably just order from Q-Tec and do it myself. Thanks in advance for any help. JT.

I am planning an install of the 5100 adjustable and a Rough Country lift. We'll se what happens. I wanted to try them with the stock springs to see how it rides. I had OME on my JK and thought they were a little firm. To purchase parts, contact Kolak, he has good prices and a wealth of knowledge.

If your set on a BB get the 5100 struts and a 2" Rustys rear spacer. If your not set then consider saving a little longer and going OME. As for the firmness of OME coils they offer a medium duty set that is a little softer. You can save quite a bit by getting the OME coils and Bilstein shock/struts.

These adjustable 5100's have been around awhile. I had them on another truckk 2 years ago. Lot of Ram's Tundra's using them. I have had them on my WK now for about 2000 miles and LOVE them. The ride is super nice in city and highway. Also off road twice (beach) with them and all good thee too. Would but them again no question. I have also added new fron sway bar bushing and front and rear BWoddy sway bar links which has helped the ride on cornering and on and off ramps.

Just received my front struts. Called a few places to get quotes for installation. Pep boys said $305, another shop gave a $200 quote, and another 2 hour quote. After they looked at jeep service manual, said it looked like a 4 hour job and wanted to charge $400 for install. Is the install on the wk really that much work? Was expecting to pay for 2 hours. Any advice?

How bad is the install to just do it yourself? I mean, get some strut compressors on loan from Autozone and spend a couple of hours in the garage? Get it aligned after, but I can't imagine the install is that bad to DIY.
