Best tires

I plan on lifting my GC soon and I need new tires. I'm road driving about 90% of the time and occasionally do some wheeling. That might change after the lift though. But anyway based on personal preference what do you guys feel is the best all around tire?

Thanks in advance!
:2thumbsup:

I drive highway everyday and started offloading more after the lift. I put Dunlop fierce attitude m/t 265/70/17 I love them! Good price too

I am in the same boat. 90% highway, towing in the summer, lots of snow in the winter.

I am in the process of shopping for tires.
I am down to two tires. Good in snow, quiet on the road, good thread wear.

The Wrangler Silent Armour, a better tire but lacks in looks, more pricey.($200)
The Cooper Discovery AT3 decent tires looks good, good rating, less renown.

I really like the BFG All-Terrain TA KO, 15 lbs heavier, bigger hit in mpg, but looks great, tough, E load range, great in snow... just not practical for me.

You will have to separate what you want and what you need. There are many tires out there. You will have decide what fits. good luck

Nitto Terra Grapplers worked great for two winters for me but I dont think they'll make a 3rd.

I highly recommend Firestone destination A/T. They are not expensive, low-no road noise, excellent off road traction. I will buy them again the next time I need tires

Personally I use Hankook dynapro ATM's and couldn't be happier. I drive mostly highway and city. Offroad here and there. Have an aggressive look and barely any road noise. I've gotten quite a few comments on them and a few friends switched over to them after I had them. I paid $149 a peice for them

I paid $205 a piece for my m/t

same 90% hiway here .I've had the silent armour and the treadwear sucked .3 sets worn bald in 120km .been Running the general grabber at2 for the last 60km and i'll get another 10-15k out of them .severe snow rated , quiet and you can pick up a set of 245/70/17 (and other sizes)for 169.00actually on sale now at Canadian tire or wait till they have them on 4 for 3 sale again for a little better pricing .

Hankooks are terrific.

This thread got me looking into the Hankook Dynapro ATM's and I'm liking what I'm seeing (especially in terms of $$$)

JordanD07 03-07-2013 09:18 PM

The copper at3 is one of the best tires all around in my opinion in terms of price function and looks IMO. Consumer reports has it ranked high as well

rawlston 03-07-2013 09:30 PM

Wild country xtx can't hear them on the road and they have been working great for me offroad even in mud which is where most a/t tires fall short.

265/65/18
Goodyear Silent Armour $1244
Cooper Discoverer AT/3 $995
Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2 $1064
Hankook Dynapro ATM $1290
Toyo Open Country 1 $1123

Today, I went to see the Cooper Discoverer AT/3 and the Hankook Dynapro ATM. They where side by side. Their threads are very similar. However the side wall of the Hankook are more aggressive looking. They are snowflake rated. Both tires have a rating of 560 for thread wear.
Is the Hankook worth the $295?

JRLT 03-08-2013 07:41 PM

What tire size is that?
