hey guys, i wanted to rebound someting off anyone whos willing to read this
so as the title says, i am pretty sure i have shot front passanger half shaft/axle.
a little back ground about the issue, about a year ago, i installed a 2in lift, in the process, the same axle came apart up at the transfer case. The snap ring that holds the large bearings in place came out so i took it out, apart, repacked it and greased everything up and sealed it up.
so today i was out messing around off roading and when i hit the road to go home, i heard this horrible metal on metal pulsating grind/pop while driving at low speeds anywhere from 5-10mph. the steeting wheel would pull at the same spot of the grind/pop hard left then straighten out, grind again and straighter out. got this thing towed home and while my brother jacked up the truck, i had my hand on the half shaft because i looked over everything else on that side but, every upward movement the truck made with the pump jack, a loud pop was heard and i felt it straight through my hand. as if someone took a sledge to it.
everything else looks ok, and everything was tight. tie rods, balljoints, sway bay and the links, it shifted in and out of 4hi.lo fine.
things to keep in mind i replaced withing the last year"
struts, upper control arms, swar bar end links, sway bar bushings, lower strut bushings,
so u guys think im right on wit hthe bad axle? and shoud i be looking at something else as well?
