Another CRD bites the dust

RIP

I wouldn't be so sad, but it was nicely modded and was unstoppable in winter. No rust and it ran great with 180K miles.

The wife killed it on a rainy day. I'm guessing she stomped on the brakes while taking a sharp downhill turn and over corrected her steering.

Thanks. Not sure how she rolled a QDII...but at least her and the two passengers are okay. It was a low speed rollover and it had side curtain airbags, which likely helped out.

I had it towed to my house while I decide what to do with it after the insurance totals it and offers me a pittance. It only happened a few hours ago.

Glad everyone was ok but yeah that sucks. A lot of nice mods on there too. Roof looks pretty trashed but if its salvageable, it could be put back together for a nice wheeling rig at least.

looks like a DPF delete. rollover's are tough to estimate, i suspect the insurance company will want to write it off.

Glad to hear everyone is okay. It's a shame to see it damaged but it looks like it took the impact the way it was supposed to, to keep everyone safe. Hopefully insurance pays you out fairly, at least it's at your place so you can take a bunch of the mods off since they never seem to give you anything for them.

If you part it out, dibs on the Front Guard, Sliders and Hidden winch.

PS, glad everyone made it out ok!

Main thing is no one got hurt!

It's totaled. Don't settle for what they try and pay you, they won't consider the rarity of the diesel and will give you low dollar for a gasser. Fight it and you will get what it's worth.

It happens, my wife rolled our white ZJ years ago. She found out you can't take a corner at 70 on glare ice, it rolled end over end 4 times... She drives a car now.

Dude, look at the bright side, at least you didn't have a Superlift installed...

That said, shoot me a PM when you figure out what's gonna happen... you have most of the stuff I've been looking to add to mine! I bet you could part that thing on Ebay and get most of it back.

A better plan still, buy another diesel and swap it all over before the insurance people take the wrecked one. That way if something isn't up to par on the new one (say an interior piece is damaged) just swap it over from your wrecked one.

Bummer! Glad nobody was hurt.

I recommend pulling off all the extra goodies and selling them on CL or here on the forum. When my CRD got badly t-boned, my 4xguard side rails had only a small scratch. Body shop insisted on putting on a new set, so I sold the old set on CL real fast. Ameriprise from Costco paid it all. I took the rig to a first rate shop of my choice.

I was the one that bought them. Surprisingly enough my jeep was rear ended while parked out in front of my house and they drove under the driver side. There was a good amount of damage everywhere except where the wheel hit the sliders. That area made it out just fine. The jeep ended up getting totaled but I kept the sliders and put them on my new jeep.
