After market wood trim dash?

I have been searching for upgrades for my WK GC and saw a few sites (and sellers on ebay) who offer wood trim upgrades for the dash (etc.)

Has anyone had experience replacing to stock dash, with kits like this? It is something I'd really like to do, but I don't want to get into something that ends up to be a pain in the end. Would it be possible to have my dealership install it (bought the car brand new)? Would it void my warranty?

you might get the trim from a wrecked limited at a junkyard. It would probably be better quality than a kit.....

The only thing im not sure about is the climate control system and how that would work. you might ask merlin if it is doable to swap.

Hate to say it, but if you want the wood, you gotta pony up for either the Limited or the Overland trim pieces. eBay, dealer parts counter, junkyard... whatever.

Trim kits look like crap because they're glued (permanently) to your existing trim. And between the adhesive most of them use and the thickness of the materials themselves, they stick out pretty good. Makes pressing your buttons and using your knobs all kinds of fun.

Vinyl trim kits don't have depth problems, but they unsurprisingly look like vinyl with woodgrain printed on it.

What year is your Jeep? I have a complete wood trim kit from a 2008 Limited for sale.

To answer your question, replacing the trim will not void your warranty.

center dash parts on the 08 are different from the 06. I see the wood OEM pieces on ebay all the time.

Unfortunately, the 2008 dash trim won't fit the 2006. Sorry!

Bringing this one back. I just put in the 4 pieces from a 2005 Limited. Got them all at once on ebay. Took no time at all to replace them. Love the look. I'll have to get to posting pics here soon. I just got my first Jeep (2006 Grand Cherokee) last month so I am a "newbie". LOL
