Adding trailer hitch receiver

Hey guys,

So i have a 06 WK without the trailer hitch receiver, and was wondering if I can add one to it. I know that justforjeeps.com sells the receivers but does that mean you have to cut the stock bumper or would you have to buy a whole new bumper?

Thanks for the help as always!

I bought mine for 152 with the harness and cover from thehitchstore.com. Did not have to cut anything and looks decent. Took 20 min to install, 30 with wiring.

Here's my Curt hitch, it doesn't look quite as nice as the OEM style but it was cheap and easy to install. No cutting or drilling required, plus the lower mounting location works out perfect for lifted WK's.

I'm using the same as Luck06, the height makes a normal 2" drop perfect at stock height and obviously lesser drops than oem hitch for lifted WKs.

The instructions said to but I just removed the 4 clips underneath and slid it in with no issues at all.

Yea I didnt have to remove the bumper. It seems like I might have had to drop the spare a bit though, can't remember.

As with Luck I did lower the spare as well. But Moreno because it let me use a ratchet rather than a wrench and I'm too lazy to spin a regular wrench that much plus it made wiring easier.

I bought the OEM hitch and the OEM bezel and did it in like 1.5 hours.. I prefer the stock look for the hitch receiver.

I also had the OEM hitch, removed the bumper for install. Bought the bezel kit and cut the bumper for the stock look. Took about 2 hrs, the only hard part (and nerve racking) was cutting. In the end it looked 100% stock just like it came with the hitch installed from the factory. I'd say a difficulty of 6-7 out of 10.

Go with the OEM, IMO it looks best.
