46k km or 30k mile service

2007 CRD Took it in, first service for me as i got the jeep at 33000km from the dealer.

they checked a few things for me, no charge.

oil change including tax 266.00 I near ****.... 50 for filter, 130 for oil, 40 for labour a few bucks for a gasket.

So my questions are this.

1) What is the norm for an oil change?

2) a) What oils can i use if i do this myself?
b) What oil filter?
c) what is the average cost to do a change yourself? (i do them on my vw all the time)

3) Can i do it myself and keep my warranty valid? This is the first car i have had that still has warranty on it.

Thanks

I just paid $600 for my 40000km service and I did the oil change myself. Yup...I near **** too. I got both front and rear diff serviced, $38/litre for that oil. Your price is pretty close to what I paid for my last oil change at 30000Km
I bought 18 liters of engine oil and 4 filters from germanfilters.com for $200 Cdn. Picked it up at the local border store near Thunder Bay, as it is a US address it is free shipping and I only had to pay the Cdn tax's when I brought it over.

is front and read differential servicing supposed to be done at 40k? I got the jeep at 34k and they told me it was due in at 46k, to be honest i never looked for the service book schedule as i just figured they would tell me when it needed to be in for service as required.

Book says front and rear diffs at 40K, transfer at 50k. But, after reading about some axle problems some are having, I might be changing earlier.

I change my own fluids except for the tranny fluid & filters.
Oil every 7,500 5w30 in winter, 5w40 in summer. Mobile 1 ESP 229.51
Tranny every 30k, will have the filter changed also at 60k. I tow regularly.
Front & Rear diffs every 15k Mobile 1 w/slip additive along with 4oz bottle from dealer.
Transfer case 30k Dealer oil.
Fuel filter every 25k
So far no issues. I do this because I plan on keeping this vehicle for a very long time. I currently have 49,123 miles on the vehicle. Time will tell.
