4.7 all the way.

Especially the 08 model.

I've had the WJ 4.7 and 4.7HO. Both are great motors.

4.7 does have a bit more torque over the 3.7...and a MUCH greater towing capacity.

If you are willing to look used, 4.7L are everywhere, with sunroofs on a fair amount of them, I work for a dodge/jeep/chrysler lot and I have 5-6 used cherokees at all times, all rental return rigs, and its usually a 50-50 mix of v6 base models and 4.7 with sunroofs. Miliage is usually 12-22k miles, and we even get a decent amount of the 4.7L limited with leather and heated seats and all that.

And these can all be had near the 20k mark, they are not a rare vehicle, I am suprised you have not been able to find any on lots near you.

Where did you ever find a V6 WJ? Those are super rare!

I'm pretty sure that the 4.0 was/is an Inline 6 (I6).

Right under the ad banner I think it needs to say "The 4.0L is NOT a V-6!" in huge letters...

Perhaps they used the greddy I->V conversion kit. It seems to also be available for BMW's I constantly hear about V6 BMWs... Sigh...

Oh I have the APC brand Inline conversion for my Hemi. It is a simple drop in replacement, that nets you an impressive 376 ft lb increase and you only lose 135 hp. I thin that is along the same product line.

4.7 is worth the extra $ IMO

Test drive both and make your own decision, if you dont think the 4.7 is worth it, then don't get it.
