3.0 diesel, oil leak at the oil cooler?
First, this is a bit of a trick question. The car in question is a Mercedes GL320 (2008) but it has the same 3.0L turbodiesel as the WK.
Benz dealer wants $2,500+ to change a gasket between the oil cooler and the intake manifold. It's a cheap part, but hours and hours of labor to take everything off the top of the engine.
Is this a problem with the Jeep diesels too?
Would I be crazy to get a quote from a big Jeep dealership for the job, or should I try a Sprinter repair shop? I am fairly ambitious as a DIY guy, but I had an independent Benz shop turn me away claiming that this job was too much for them!
