2009 hemi vs 2005-2008 hemi

Has anyone compared the new 2009 hemi to the earlier hemis?
I know the new hemi is a beast compared to the old ones in the Rams. I've been kicking around buying a new hemi GC but if the difference isn't big I know I can pick up a clean used one much MUCH cheaper.
If anyone has experienced a 2009 I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

I HAVE AN 09, HUGE difference in acceleration, interior , and 0-60 times. i can get to 60 in under 6 seconds. 08 and below years are in the 7 second to 7.5 range for 0-60 ...no brainer to get an 09 with all the dealer discounts.

I have traded my 07 Chrysler Hemi in on a 09 Grand Cherokee Hemi which I am still breaking in. My old Hemi was really strong after 20k miles and loved to rev but it is no match for this yet fully unbroken in Grand Cherokee. The 09 Hemi revs much faster and pulls harder than the old Hemi. I am at 1400 miles on it and it would blow the doors off the Chrysler allready and just gets better by the day. I am a happy camper with this Jeep.

love the new Hemi for '09 ...........but........they still do not offer better colors for the leather interior, i really do not like either version of the new Limited's leather color palette (same as 2008), or the whacky Overland leather colors either. so i took a pass on the '09, plus my '08 only has 6,900 miles on it.

can't we ever get a leather interior in light tan on a Limited again?

I really doubt there is much of a difference between them, not enough to spend the bug bucks and loss trading it in-regardless of the discounts. I personally would wait until the next generation comes out-which is next year I think.

I test drove a 07 gc hemi for one day then test drove the 09 gc hemi i bought the 09. i could feel a big difference in acceleration and highway. i also traveled to montana from chicago this winter i averaged 25 miles a gallon with 89 octane. i also love the uconnect system.

Wait till you tow with the new Hemi, this motor is terrific for towing uphill. My 07 Hemi was strong but this one is an animal.

+27hp and +14ft-lbs torque assuming it's the 5.7L. The towing characteristics sounds more like like a transmission programming issue than raw power. For the price of an '09, it may be cheaper to get the 3" Gibson exhaust, CAI, and superchip to get similar performance.

Not to take away from the '09 Hemi, but it just doesn't seem that the motor alone would show such a big gain.
