2009 Grand Cherokee won't start // ETC Light On // New Battery Didn't Work

Hey all,

I came out of the grocery store today to find my 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 completely unable to start.

- All lights and accessories are working perfectly when turned on
- When i turn to start the engine, it clicks and shuts everything off, I get the lightning bolt ETC light, as well as the oil pressure check engine light. they both stay solid for about 3 seconds, then everything returns to normal on the dash.
- The engine never turns over or makes any sound, it seems completely electronic.
- I read some forums that suggested the battery cell is likely dead, and only has enough power to trigger everything but the starter.
- I went to O'Reilly and dropped $180 on a brand new battery. They put it in for me, and still nothing. (and they won't accept a return, jerks)

Now my car has been towed home and is completely out of commission. Any help is so appreciated.

I posted in your other thread. WIN (tipm) module for the ignition.

be sure and let us know the final outcome, as it will probably help someone else down the road.

Just got off the phone with the shop. He said there was some bad wiring to the starter motor, and it fried the starter motor. So they had to replace the starter motor and fix the wiring. Cost me around $500. Oh well...
