2007 jeep grand cherokee cooling system problems

My mom recently wrecked her liberty and bought a grand cherokee. It has the 4.7l and has around 70k on it. Shortly after buying it she said when sitting at stop lights or in drive thru's the temp started to climb but when she started moving it cooled right down. The fan seems to be working fine, I heard about the issues they had with the thermostat causing weird issues like this so I changed it and it cured the problem for about a week, now its starting to do the same thing again and I'm not really sure whats left to check. Any suggestions?

Water pump; temp sending sensor; radiator drain/chem flush/refill; build up in hoses - lot of components in the cooling system and all important pieces of the overall cooling.

Mine did the same thing when the radiator cracked. Not saying that is the cause, just telling you the symptoms sound familiar.
