2007 Jeep Commander wont start

So I just recently picked up a good deal on a Commander and couldn't say no. Anyway after going to the store I came out and it seemed as if the battery was dead, the engine wouldn't even attempt to turn over. After attempting to jump the commander for 15 mins with two vehicles at once the engine will turn over slowly but only once or twice. Any ideas guys? I've literally had this car for 24 hours.

A lot of people (including myself) have discovered a loose power terminal on the starter. It causes it to behave as you described. I would start there. It's an easy fix. Just remember to disconnect the battery before you start wrenching on the positive lead in such a tight space

also try the battery ..on my 07 grand cherokee the battery was randomly shot one morning. Couldnt be jumped or anything. These jeeps also tend to do funny things when they have bad batteries.

Garage
I too had the dead battery that would not charge on our XK. Check the volts with a meter.

Thanks guys, it ended up being the battery, I was sure if I had two cars hooked up to it at once I ha to be the starter, but I changed the battery out ad it started right up! Quick easy fix. I'm glad to have my commander back!

Give it some time. The starter issue can be intermittent. When I was having this same problem, I to changed my battery. A couple days later, the problem was back. After discovering the lose nut on the starter, the problem hasn't returned. Wouldn't hurt to check the starter anyways...
