2006 Grand Cherokee HID conversion issues
Trying to convert my stock halogen headlights to HIDs and having major issues. Installed kit and lights turned on the first try. Turned car off and re-started, no headlights at all. Bulbs would flicker when plugging them in, lit at first contact but only for a few seconds. Tried the relay to fix the computer/voltage problems that everyone talks about, still did not work. Any suggestions? I've even taken it to an installation guy and he couldn't figure it out. Currently have HID fogs and yellow headlights
Need help!

hmm that relay/diagram is very different from the relay i purchased (from a shop that does HID conversions, car audio, etc.). they gave me a pair of relays that go between the original headlight plugs and ballast on each side.

In theory both setups would work. With one relay, the contacts have to be rated for the full load of both lights and if the one relay fails, both lights are out. I personally like the idea of one relay for each light, a little more wiring but you should not have both lights out at the same time due to a relay failure.

i haven't been able to get these fixed yet... i took it back to the shop where i purchased the relay and they couldn't figure it out either. its something with the car- they also tried a set of their own HIDs and it still wouldn't work. i have another person looking into it too. let me know if your relay harness works, and if so where you got it. thanks!

The relay should connect to the ballast, original light plugs and the battery. They are designed to provide power to the HID's directly from the battery when power is switched on to the original headlight plug.
