2005 Grand Cherokee???

I just bought a 2011 Jeep Compass. I've been driving it for almost 2 weeks now and my wife likes it more than i do. I'm looking now at trading in her Pontiac G6 to get a Grand Cherokee. I've found two that I like at the price I like one is an 04 and the other an 05, both have between 70k and 80k miles.

Is there anything to lookout for or worry about for these years?

I read online about electrical and transmission problems, is this something to worry about or really hit and miss?

I had a WJ and now a 2005 WK. Both are nice trucks. Having had both, I personally would choose the '05.
As far as issues, I have had none with mine. 82,xxx and it's never been brought to the dealer for anything but an oil change (I get them for free).

I had numerous small problems with my WJ, although it was '99 (new model year). Nothing major, but annoying gremlins basically. That's actually why I traded it with 78,000 miles. I was driving down the highway and it started to overheat just as I was approaching my dealership. I pulled right in drove away with my WK. I had enough.

I'd go with the WK. I bought an '06 Laredo with 30k miles on it. Drove it until about 95k miles...never once had a problem. Just did regular maint.

I totaled my well moded 02WJ overland few weeks ago. Then i had to go quick for another car. I found 05WK laredo cheap with 35kmiles. Lot of extra packages inthere. Now, some 3200miles later, it doesnt hurts anymore . To be straight, WK is much better choice.

You have a WK with 80K and have not had ANY problems? Starter, EGR valve, front diff isolators, door panels, nothing??

Nope. none of that. warped rotors at 20,000. replaced front sway bushings twice. And replaced my struts whe. I did my lift because I was there.
The only "issue" I ever had was a no start due to a faulty ground. Took me an hour to find and fix.
