That's good to hear, I plan on going with the same size. Did you do the pinch weld?

My spare does not fit though so I'm stuck with the original, how bad with a 3" difference mess with the traction and AWD system if I have to use the small wheel?

I aired mine down and trimmed the hitch to get it to fit. The difference in size will really mess up the drive train.

All the way its the only way I could get it to fit. It has 0 miles on the tire btw.

So you obviously carry a pump to air it up then if you need it? Guess that's better then effing up the drive system.

Ya just a little $20 thing, and yes a lot better than wreaking havoc on the drive train. Hitch mod is pretty easy, just a saws all and safety glasses.

Can't thank you all enough for this thread!

I bought some 2012 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara wheels (and they are a beautiful wheel) not knowing the 255/70 R18 OEM Bridgestone Dueler A/T's tires might work. I can't believe they might fit. Bonus! We'll find out how much mine rub on a stock rig. Interesting that the thread seems to say they rub very little on a stock rig but more on a 2" lift set up.

As for the guys with the Wrangler's dumping their 18's they are everywhere right now on Craigslist here in Arizona. Most sets are two or three years old, have 4 well worn tires and a brand new spare, and they're practically giving them away at scrap aluminum prices. I think I may pick up some more if they really fit, my Jeep is mostly on the pavement and not on the ice like up in Oregon where I originally bought it. When someone really designs a popular 18" Mud and snow they'll wish they had these nice wheels back.

Now, can I put my stock 17" Cast Ronin's on my wifey's '08 Chrysler T&C? hmmm....

Good find. Tire rub shouldn't be bad, might need to a slight pinch weld mod.
I enjoy my 18" Sahara wheels. Wish the design was a little cleaner, but can't complain as they are cheap.
I am trying to get Goodyear to make a 295/70/18 Duratrac tire, but so far no luck. I email them every few months.

Welp, I figured that I should weigh in because I took a blind shot in the dark based off of everyone's (mostly) success. Bought some 7-spoke JK wheels with brand new 255 70 R18 tires to put on my 07 WK CRD. Installed the 1" wheel spacer and rim/tire on the front left. 2/3-3/4-lock and it's an audible rub. I can hear the plastic pushing in and rubbing on the metal. Did NOT hit the bolt, though. Needless to say, I didn't bother with the other side. Didn't feel much like doing the pinch weld mod, even though if I went that route I'd beat the crap out of it with a hammer in hopes to bend it back. My WK only has 53,000 miles on it, so it doesn't have too much front end sag...Although it is there. Going to go with the Bilstein 5100's here before too long.

In the meantime, does anyone have any other advice? Would bigger wheel spacers allow for the tire to come in more on full lock? I'm hesitant to have too wide of spacers because I feel that puts more pressure on the ball and CV joints.

I just put 2014 Rubicon take-offs on my CRD. I have no spacers and no lift. I do get some rubbing at full lock only. No issue with UCA bolt. Someone before my cut up the passenger side wheel well, looks like to replace fog light bulb and I hear that rubbing on turns occasionally, nothing a quick snip wouldn't fix. I plan on doing pinch weld and rear fender roll when it gets warmer out as I have rubbing on compression without a lift.
255/75/17 - same size as 255/70/18 which is what I need to get installed on my stock 18" wheels so all my wheel/tire sets are the same size for speedo calibration (which has yet to be done). If anyone in Grand Rapids, MI area and reprogram it for me for a small fee, please PM me.

I have 255/70r18's ony my XK with 1.5" bilstein 5100's lift. They rubbed, did the pinchweld mod, and all is good. No way I could've ran these with no lift. Might have been due to wider wheels/reduced backspacing (18x9 5.39" BS custom wheel). Hope this helps someone.

Sahara 7 Spokes

Hey Guys,
I decided to go the other direction with my wheel/tire set up. The Jeep is on SRT8 springs/Bilsteins WK. it clears the bolt. A little bit of rub on the inside frame. I'm temporarily using 1/8" spacers up front but I think 1/4" inch would work. Just very difficult to find good 1/4" spacers.

Glad I found this thread.

It appears the JK Sahara wheels and tires will fit, but may rub a bit. Is there any issues with pulling a U Turn when they rub a bit?
