Yeah... I've pained 5 or 6 vehicles but the welding has been a learning experience for sure. I have a new gained respect for people who are good at it! Yep, its clear coated. And I actually shot it with rattle cans... I have access to a HVLP system and will probably borrow that or just buy a high pressure gun to repaint it. Yeah, I already have to repaint it. It turns out PRH and PRJ are different colors! They are listed as the same paint code as far as touch up goes because they are similar, but on an entire panel the color difference is obvious. Its the same for all of the trim I painted also. Oh the joys of painting
Any tips on how to get a rattle can finish to turn out that nice?

I'll try to take lots of pictures and give details on painting with rattle cans if I go that route when I repaint the trim pieces and bumper... Still debating if I want to rattle can it again or just throw down the cash for a new hi pressure gun. I'm not even sure how easy it will be to do a 3 part paint with cans... probably just as annoying as the 2 part paint has been with cans Oh well, a project for another weekend!

As for this weekend, I just got the body color (the correct body color) grill and door handles installed then decided to get it dirty... Oh how I wish FL had more to offer when it comes to places to offroad!

Due to the fact that I shortened the overall length, a winch will no longer fit behind the bumper. So because I have to notch the unibody to get a winch to fit anyway, I plan to eventually just build a cradle into the unibody as others have done. I would have left the winch provisions, but I plan on going with a hawse fairlead and hidden solenoid, so it was just logical to remove everything. Unfortunately the winch project probably wont come around to next winter, but the plans are in the works!

Thanks!

I'm heading to Ouray Co in a little over a month for some 4x4ing (go figure I'm going to be a few days too late for GSW) so I figured I'd best fix the front suspension. The bumper lowered the front suspension about 1/2 an inch. So I purchased some Rustys spacers.

These spacers are really made for those without a spacer already, but they work with the SL spacer *barely*. Any lower and the spacer itself would contact the body right at the spring perch.

I also added some JBA disconnects and replaced the tie-rod end I ruined during the initial lift install.

before the spacer:

after:

The difference is subtle, but I regained the 1/2" as advertised

Then it was off to Goodyear for a laser alignment

It's so weird seeing a lift install when all the parts are clean haha. Looks really nice.
