1.5" Lift/Level on 2008 CRD

Got my adjustable 5100 front struts (set to 1.5" lift) to go with my 4600 rear shocks. Thanks Kolak. Now rides level.

Also ordered some black lug nuts to match my Jeep.

I currently have 255/60/17s which went a lot better with my stock height. Now I'm trying to decide what tires to go with:

Cooper ATP 245/70/17 or 265/70/17 (not sure if will fit)
Cooper AT3 255/70/17
Duratrac 245/70/17 or 265/70/17 (not sure if will fit)

Wish more aggressive A/T tires came in 255 width.

I know the Pintler wheels already have an offset, so less chance of rubbing.

Thanks.... kind of funny with the current tires though. I actually like this modest lift, but not sure what tires size is best. Thoughts?

Tires look too small. I'd go with the 265's.

2008 CRD QDII, OME HD, Pintlers wheels with 265/70/17 Goodyear Silent Armour's, Jeepinbyal UCA's. 4XGuard Front guard, Side Guard, belly guard, Matrix HC. GDE ECO Tune w/ delete.

I agree too small, and they are ready to be replaced. You think 265/70/17 will fit?

I would definitely go with 265/70's to fill in the wheel well

2010 JKU - Stock for now
2005 WK - 6" lift, 35" BFG's, a lot more (SOLD)

I have 265/70-17 wrangler silent armor tires on WK Pintlers. There is a small amount of rubbing on the back of the wheel well liners when I turn, but it is minor. 40000 miles on them and only small scuffs on the liners. You could do the Pinch weld mod (there is a thread for it). You might have to trim the UCA bolt stud, there is a lot of info on the forum for that too.

Thanks for the input. I'm leaning toward the 265/70/17, but really don't want to do the pinch weld mod. Discount tire direct has pretty low prices on the Copper At3 in 265/70/17, so that may be worth a shot. It would be nice to get a test fit first to make sure.

The PW mod is very easy. I put it off for 9 months cause I didn't want to do it but I gave it a shot and had no problem. Plus I'm now rub free which is really nice when needing to make sharp turns like U-turns

I just did the same thing, but I left it all oem out back for now and it looks good. I went with '13 grey rubicon wheels, a front 6mm spacer and 265/70/17 Bfg rough terrain ta
No rubbing on the pinch weld, at least on the street, off road dunno yet. And no need to even cut the bolt

Did you also set front height to 1.5"? How close to pinch weld are you?

I'm thinking 255/70/17 Cooper AT3 (or ATP) may be a safer pick. I was under the impression that the 2" lift + pintler wheels would allow 265/70/17 without further modification, but according to others posting on here, there is rub at full lock and mods are necessary.

I did set it at 1.5
I am pretty close when I turn the wheel the closest i get is probably .5 inch to an inch
I was going to go with 255/70/17 that's .5 smaller in diameter than a 265/70/17 and would be a safer choice
The BFGs are an AT tire, if you get an Mt tire with big tread like a BFG KM2 it would be very close, probably under 1/4 inch.
I was prepared to do the pinch weld mod if I had too, kinda glad I didn't because I am worried about rust
