08-10 Head Unit fit?

I finished wiring my old double din Kenwood DPX500. I forgot how much better factory can sound after a bit of HPF LPF tuning!

Unfortunately I have a cluster **** of a mess since the head unit will not enter the dash. It keeps hitting something.

I'm not sure why so much limited data is there for this. I can't find any information. Does anyone know if I'm supposed to trim the dash?

when my factory head unit failed in my 2008 I looked for months for an aftermarket unit that would be a true plug and play swap, but, such a unit does not exist. All aftermarket head units from my research either will require modifying the bracing under the dash by cutting away some sections and/or modifying the wiring harness to retain all the factory controls and features.

I said to heck with all that and just got a new factory unit.
