07 Power-folding mirrors

I have herd alot of people upgrading to the Overland power folding mirrors. However, I have only herd of them installing them on eitheer 05, or 06 models...not on 07's. I have an 07 Grand Cherokee and i want this feature, will it wotk on an 07 model year?

What are the advantages of them, besides the obvious? I've never folded my mirrors in...

They were discontinued for the 07 model year. Fools. The 06 Overland one mirrors should work. You will just have to wire them in and install the switches. Not that hard.

Whats the advantages? Parking your Jeep in a small garage maybe? Or when in a parking lot, you donít want the dumb *** with the big truck to rip them off as he pulls out. Or while off roading you can get those few extra inches you need.

Hi
I can give you wiring info but don’t know what you have to do to install them all the UK models have this as standard.
Regards,
Merlin

The only reason I am hesitant to buy them, is because there like $650 on justforjeeps.com. I just want to make sure that they will work.

$650???? That's insane. I'll wait a year or two and source them from a junkyard

They are expensive thats for sure. Looking at my Mopar parts catalog you an order the platinum set (platinum top trim, black bottom) for $590 for the left and right mirrors. If you want them painted, be prepared to pony up over $800 from the dealer.

If you really want a set, you can probably find buy them from Europe cheaper, assuming you don’t get screwed on the exchange rate. Just make sure you buy them off a LHD Jeep and not a RHD Jeep.

Any possibility that the auto-folding mirrors would make the passenger side mirror dim (like the rearview and drivers side mirror)?

Now *that* might get me to spend $600 on rearview mirrors

Iím not a 100% sure if there is or not. I know my WJ has an auto dimming drivers side mirror, much like the rear view mirror. I donít know if this option is offered on the WK / WH or not. How ever, I pretty sure the mirror it self is different b/c depth perception is different from one side to the other.

Hi Folks
Jeep had the Folding mirrors until about Jan 07 on GC overland (not sure about the other models) and wanted to save money without raising the price of the Jeep. Anyway - I wanted the folding mirrors but it will cost about $900. Here is the link to what the parts cost and changes to make them work - minor changes to the wiring. http://www.wkjeeps.com/wk_overland_mirrors.htm
thanks
Bill

PS: here is the link to Jeep parts http://www.newjeepparts.com/ . they have the Platinum (platinum top trim, black bottom) ones which I would rather have the painted version Black. Price is not bad for the Platinum:
List Their price
$355 $284
$209 $209
