Here are two pics to give you an idea of the difference between a 245 and 265. This is with the 2" RC lift.

I wont be upgrading tires anytime soon, only have about 25k miles on the destinations, i dont really do any off roading excpet for hunting season or maybe get off the beaten path every now and then to go kayaking. but how do you think a 2wd wk will look with a 2" Rough Country lift.

I mainly want it for the looks, i love the way a jeep wk looks with all terrains.

However, what i HATE is a huge gap b/w the tire and fenderwell, such as a chevrolet 2500.... those things look like they have a foot of space b/w the slick tires and the fenderwells.

I've removed the little 6" lip that attaches to the bottom of the front bumper, i always hated that thing, and now i really want to lift it a little, i just dont want it to look akward b/c its a 2wd with some average size tires.

so what do you think???? Im also tossing up the idea of putting some 1" spacers along with a 2" lift to give it a little wider stance also.

If anyone has pics of a wk lifted with 245/65/17 on factory wheels PLEASE POST PICS. I'd love to see how it'll look. Thanks
Here u go... WK on HD OME (~3") lift with stock tire/wheel combo. Hope it helps. It does look a bit silly to me, that's why I'm going for a 265/70 17.

^ I like your red jeep. I would recommend maybe getting a set of Laredo wheels. I work at a car lot so i was able to swap pretty easy. The Laredo wheels look a bit more off road and less like Infiniti wheels..

Hehe, thanks! I'm ditchin' the OEM wheels and I'm going for a set of Procomp 7031's. They're actually inside my cargo area as we speak just waiting for the new shoes to arrive.

that is a little more lift than im looking for, but i've seen a few of the 2" RC ones lifted with 245s, and i love those.
A buddy of mine owns a tire shop, i may get with him and see if i can do some sort of a swap for a set of 265s. My current tires have about 25k on them i guess.

the Rough Country lifts about 2.5" up front and about 1.75-2.00" in the back is about what i got out of it hope that helps I think the rough country levels the jeep better than the Rocky Road 2.25

Jeeper-
I'm having the same dilemma. I have a 2.25" RRO lift but just bought some 245 Laredos a few months back. After seeing some pics on here I think I'm going to go ahead and try it out, all the while posting my tires on craigslist. That way I can have my lift while not looking ridiculously out of place and then get my 265 Nittos I want when someone makes an offer on my tires.

RC lift advice for DIYer

anyone have any tips for the RC install, im going to do it myself, and was wondering if there is anything i should know besides the instructions.haha.

I'll probably go ahead and buy a spring compressor since i keep hearing mixed reviews. i'd rather have one than have to go and get one while im in the process of lifting my wk.

I'll be sure to have plenty of PB blaster, Sam Adams, and Metallica to help with the process.ha
