This thing has travel to it right? I'd hope you could put a Jack under it, pulls the bolts, lower it, swap the bushings the do the opposite. Do these have to be pressed out? I plan to inspect mine asap! I have clunk but only when off road, on brick streets, train tracks, pot holes etc... Mine is not correlated with braking or accel

***edit: ok so I guess it doesn't make sense that this thing has travel unless the tranny and transfer case move as well lol! well my tranny is out at the moment, maybe I should run up there this morning and take a look before they put it all back together

Clunk with every bump

I too have a clunking sound coming from the frontend of my 06 WK and saw this posting. Did anyone figure out whether the bushing is replaceable by unbolting and hammering out and back in a new one or does it take a special press tool or dealer only repair? For anyone who has gone through repairing the problem, which of the two picture 14 bushings in the diagram was the bad one? Was it the diff housing or the axel housing bushing that failed? since so many have failed is the new part a better replacement or will it just happen again? Maybe it's bad design and the leverage on that one point may be more than what that part can handle.

well I finally broke down and took it to a dealer to get butt raped.. i mean repaired.. the U-joints on my front and rear driveshaft are effed, and the cv joints on my front driveshaft are effed.. and thank you Jeep for making both of those non serviceable parts.. because now I have to pay $950 to get brand new front and rear driveshafts..
