Awesome WK. I never really thought about them until my girlfriend got one and I started falling in love with it, not more than my WJ though haha.

Also noticed you are in Woodbridge, I grew up in lake ridge then I lived right off Hoadly when I was going to High School, I noticed the ihop near the harris teeter in one of your pics right away. All my my family still lives up there, just moved to Chesapeake for school. Good too see some fellow jeepers around that area.

Thanks. Yeah, I live near Woodbridge HS - so right near your old stomping grounds.

In hindsight, I probably should have gotten a WJ with how much is available for them. Then again, I might have broken the bank with so many goodies available.

Got some Carling switches and ordered the Steel Armadillo switch panel. I was going to wait and get the round-switch panel, but I figured I would want to do the rectangular carling style later. . . so I ordered the rectangular panel. What I hadn't counted on was the ginormous price difference between round rocker switches and carling/daystar style switches. I found some cheap ones on eBay and some custom switch covers for cheap too. The only draw back is the eBay switches only light up when the accessory is on.
If you notice in the picture, one screw is missing. I guess when installing the nut-inserts, SA crimped one too hard an when I put the screw in - it just fell out. Hopefully I will be able to get some type of warranty on that.

Cold weather broke today, so I took the chance to refurbish my shovel and axe that got rusty from ice scrapes and the snow we've had.

Deciliter the shovel with rust-converter, Camo green, and Duplicolor wheel clear coat (it's chip resistant).

Did the same thing to the tip of my axe where it was rusting from getting scraped up during my last trip.

When pre-ordering the hidden winch mount from Steel Armadillo I saw they had their original ASFIR Front Skid for sale. It was noted that it had some blemishes and scratches from when they were testing it - but you couldn't beat the price they had it going for.

So now I just need to decide on a color, and I will paint only the base of it.

Oh man! Yeah, I debated whether or not to even put this on the thread considering someone was likely thinking the same thing.

Started to refurbish the ASFIR skid today. Scuffed up the belly with a scotch pad and laid down some Duplicolor Adhesion Promoter.

Gonna do something a little different - as you can see. The forward part will be metallic red. I'll tape off the front panel and paint the rest black — either Matte Black or Undercoating.

Thanks man! I've been inspired by others too, but sometimes I do some whacky things. Case in point, I won an eBay auction on one of those wrangler tailgate MOLLE panels. I've got it mounted to the back of my rear seat and am testing it out to see how I like it. I'll have to post a pic in the morning.

Woke up this morning and the paint was dry. I think it turned out well, now just some warmer weather to mount this skid.

I'm also testing something out -

I have seen those tailgate MOLLE panels sold for Wranglers, and I am desperate for a better way to organize my trunk with the gear I like to have at all times (i.e. Tow Strap, Sockets, Jumper Cables).

So I won one cheap on eBay and attached to the back of my rear seat, on the 60 side of the 60/40 split.

We will see how it holds up.

Hrmm, that looks awesome.

Gunna have to see how it holds up. Looks great, and those bags do an awesome job keep things organized and not moving around in the back when you take turns.
