Horrible clunk and grinding in 4 wheel

Hello,
I am new to Jeeping and first time post. I have an 85 CJ7. I have taken her off roading a few times now and has been a blast. Today however, I experienced a horrible clunk and grinding noise from underneath. I had set the Jeep into 4H to climb a hill. As I accelerated up the hill hitting a few bumps a loud clunk and grinding started happening. I stopped and came back down. I put it back into 2WD and left the hubs locked, it did the same thing one time and briefly. Later going up another hill I tried 4L and while accelerating up same noise happened. Any ideas what is happening? Thank you for any insight you all have.

Brian

Welcome to the forum!!!

Driveline issue and since it happens in 4 wheel you may have something in the T-Case or front axle happening. U-joints, flange or yoke loose, T-Case issue old loose chain, or the worst a differential going bad.
