Hey all from Hampton, GA

Hey Guys/Gals,

Been reading the forum for a while now but never registered. I needed to now though because I am going to be making some renovations/modding to my Jeep soon and could use all of the help/advice I can get.

My Zombie Killer is a 97 TJ 2.5L i4. What I'm doing to him very soon:

*Roof Rack/Cargo Basket.
*Rigging Roof Rack with (4) 6in. KC's in the front and (2) 4in KC's in the back.
*Swapping for an aftermarket alternator to power all the lights.
*Install aftermarket Rear Bumper to accomodate the Body Armor Roof Rack (Stock bumper won't work). Leaning toward Smittybilt or Rugged Ridge with tire carrier arm. I like the idea of the Spare tire sitting on a tire carrier so it can swing all the way out to the side so I don't have to remove my spare every time I want to slide my hardtop off the back. Have to do it by myself.
*Lastly, the most difficult renovation. I want to swap the i4 for a straight 6. I know the swap isn't easy and there needs to be some modding in the engine hold, but I'll have it done at a shop. so it's done right.

The power/torque and top speed I get from my i4 is too weak. I can't even get it above 70 mph. It had 2 previous owners and I know it's not the original engine, so I think the engine was swapped and tinkered with down the line.

Anyone living South of Atlanta - if you know of a good shop that knows Jeeps electrical/audio or bodywork, I'd love some recommendations. I plan on doing the rack and most everything myself except the engine swap.

Thanks guys. Looking forward to contributing for a long time to come. I'll update with pics when I get a chance. Named my TJ the Zombie Killer (it's all black) since I work on the Walking Dead. The crew loves it.

ya'll
