'98 XJ still not running!!

Hello all,
Wondering if anyone has had or is still dealing with a XJ that just won't start anymore.

Here's a brief list of new components on my 98;

Cam sensor
Distributor, cap, button, wires & plugs
Distributor pick-up coil
Map sensor
Battery

Checked all grounds.
Fuel rail has positive flow.
Spark on plugs.

It turns over and almost goes then spits a little out of the carb.
What am I missing?
Thanks in advance.

This problem happened with my 93 ZJ. Did it maybe once every two months, then one day it didn't want to start period. I'm not the expert here but I have loads of experience and have been through tons of Jeep issues.

You say you have fuel at the fuel rail. First, check what pressure you have. All you need is air, fuel and ignition source for ignition.

TPS, CPS or computer is my thoughts.

I suggest a compression and or leakdown test. This will check to see it the valves and rings are ok.
See if the local auto parts shop has a tool loaner program if you don't have or want to buy the tester(s)

I'll check.
My local parts store does have a tool loaner program.
Thanks

Have you solved the problem? I should have clarified my previous recommendation: test for compression and/or leak down after verifying spark and fuel. I now have a starts but stalls problem, I am finding others who have found it to be the Cam Position sensor, a short in the PCM, or a fuel relay. So start with what Bakon said...
